Casting Agency

Thank you very much for your interest shown towards joining Let’s Face It. We trust that the following information will assist you with your decision to join the agency.

Let's Face It Casting Agency was established in Durban in December 2005 to provide the burgeoning KZN film industry with character talent of all ages, shapes and ethnic groups. Today our KZN website proudly plays host to over 1,200 faces incorporating the aforementioned descriptions.

By joining Let’s Face It you may be one of the fortunate ones to be chosen for a shoot, which would not only afford you some additional income but also a wealth of experience. Bear in mind that most of the shoots take place during the week, so it is very important that your time is flexible.

On average our shoot ratio is as follows:-

  • 72% - Stills Shoots (for in-Store posters; Fashion Catalogues, Magazine Adverts)
  • 24% - TV Commercials (Leads; Featured Extras/Background Extras)
  • 4% - Feature Films (Featured Extras or Background Extras)
Some of the popular brand names where Let’s Face It talent has been used in Durban include:
  • Vaseline (Stills)
  • BEAR Apparel (Stills)
  • Mr Price Clothing (Stills)
  • Edgars (Stills)
  • Samsung (TV Commercial)
  • KFC (TV Commercial)
  • Nikon (TV Commercial)
  • Spud (Feature Film)
  • 31 Million Reasons (Feature Film)

Of course we cannot guarantee work during any given time period. Our business is totally reliant on the type of person the client is seeking for a particular shoot. There are some faces on our database who are in higher demand than others, but there is no telling what the next Casting Brief might require.

Every 4 – 6 weeks we hold an Open Day photo shoot in Durban where you are given the opportunity to come and have some photos taken of yourself. A photograph portfolio fee of R100 is payable on the shoot day. (As soon as the next Open Day has been scheduled we will email you the details.) An additional R20 is payable if you would like to receive a disc of all the photographs taken of you at the Open Day.

You will be given a page on our website containing a selection of your photos, as well as some personal information. If we receive a casting brief that in our opinion is suited to you, we will forward your profile to the client who will in turn decide whether they wish to see you for a casting.

The following procedures are followed once you have been selected for a shoot:-

  • A market-related fee is negotiated between Let’s Face It and the Client.
  • An agency commission is deducted.
  • A mandatory 25% PAYE is deducted.
  • The balance is transferred into your bank account.
  • You are issued with an IRP5 Tax Certificate for the PAYE deduction

Once you have been given a page on our database, we pledge never to compromise your security in any way at all by:

  • only listing your First Name on our website
  • never divulging any of your personal information or contact details to anyone not related to a specific shoot.
  • enforcing laws as determined by the Dept Of Labour which aim to protect children under the age of 15 years on film sets.
